Lesley Ash

I have been sculpting for 30 years, sometimes in wood but more often in cold-cast metals, which are first modelled in clay. Animals and people range from a few inches high to life-size, for indoors or outside.
I like to capture the concentration of children when they believe they are unobserved. Dogs make characterful subjects and I have been commissioned to make portraits of much-loved pets from life or photographs.
The fun large-scale stuff isn’t meant to last for ever but make a big impression in the landscape for a season or two, Like the Lion and Unicorn I did for Blickling in Jubilee year.
