Susan Purser HopeI ran my Midlands based interior design consultancy for many years until returning to University in 2005 to learn about glass making. Seven years ago I moved to Norfolk, fulfilling a lifetime’s ambition to live by the sea and to develop my work as a fused glass artist.
As a result, my work is influenced by the idyllic sea and landscapes that surround me. I am also fascinated by the diversity of local entertainment especially the Hippodrome Circus, Great Yarmouth and Cromer’s end of pier show. Working from my studio at Groveland in Roughton, I focus on kiln formed decorative wall-hung and 3 dimensional forms plus architectural commissions. I also offer a range of workshops so that everyone can experience working with this wonderful material. I especially enjoy running community projects to promote wellbeing, working people of all ages many from hard to reach backgrounds or with mental health issues. My work has been exhibited in galleries in London and in numerous galleries around the country including Norfolk. I am Chair of the Contemporary Glass Society. |
