Desmond CloverAfter four years at Hornsey College of Art in London, I had a sixteen year career in graphic design and book illustration. Moved to Huntingdonshire, opened my Studio Pottery and shop, also taught ceramics at the local college.
Throughout these years, I have continued to paint but it was only after a move to North Norfolk sixteen years ago, that I was finally able to paint full-time. I am influenced by my surroundings, the birds, the sea and cliffs, the sky, people on the beach. North Norfolk is a wonderful area and inspires me to paint. Moving through the countryside around Cromer has resulted in paintings of fields and trees. Before I saw lapwings and rooks, now the tractors are surrounded by sea birds, especially black-headed gulls, also many cormorants on the beach near my house. |
